Stuck in a cycle of depression and plagued by suicidal thoughts, I needed help. I needed hope. Real hope. The countless therapist, elite psychiatrists, multiple medications and month long stay in a mental hospital bought me a few more days, but didn’t take away this impending threat to my life. It wasn’t until I made the decision that saved my life out of the pit that I truly found life worth living. Below is a poem of contemplation and reflection. Enjoy!
WHERE ARE YOU GOING? by Laurie Krawchuk
Where are you going? How do you know? Who did you ask? Did HE tell you so? Why do you struggle? Why do you hurry? Did HE not tell you, not to worry? What are your plans? What are your goals? Are you a daughter? What are your roles? Who loves you? Who can you trust? Who knows you best and created you from dust? So when you’re all busy and hurried and frazzled, Angry, frustrated, upset, or rattled. Who can you turn to? Who will hear? Who gives you comfort from a falling tear? I’ve heard to seek HIM, to knock at His door. I don’t know how, I’ve not done that before. Sure I’ve done this and that and checked it off my list. But what was it really? A betraying kiss? I get overwhelmed by all of the expectations. I need self-control!!! I need more patience!!! I want to have joy, I want to be free. To live, love, and laugh just like HE made me to be. So I ask again… Where are you going? Do you know why? Are your days filled with purpose? You could give it another try. Kneel down on your knees, and speak words of praise. Ask for forgiveness and give others grace. Beware of temptation and submit all to God. HE has the power, the love, and the rod. HE is your Father from heaven above. HE’s one of faith, of hope, and true love. HIS WORD is truth, it’s our foundation and direction. It’s about Jesus’ life, and death, and resurrection. Is your heart your own or have you given it to the Son? Our LORD and SAVIOUR the Only One? So I ask for a third time… Where are you going to Heaven or Hell? A Palace of Perfection or a Fiery Jail! There isn’t much time don’t procrastinate. What will you choose there’s no time to waste. HE called you to be HIS, a child of God. HE knit you in your Mother’s womb like a pea in a pod. I’ll tell you where I’m going. Home to my Father above. To be back in HIS arms of Everlasting Love. I’ve cried out to Jesus and given HIM my heart. I know I’m not perfect but it is a start. I want all to know that HE’s waiting for you. To make the decision to be a new creation too! So Thank God for Jesus and Thank Jesus for you, and Thank the Holy Spirit for the new things that you do.
